Obituary for Kyi-Michael Moore On a balmy 47 degree Tuesday, November 16, 1993 at 10:10 AM in St. Peters Hospital, New Brunswick, God looked around His garden selected one of his Angels to send to brighten the lives of Kimberly Davis and Ronald Moore. That Angel came to earth in the form of Infant, Kyi-Michael Moore. As a toddler “Kyi” as he was lovingly called by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins was a cute,curious, gregarious, extroverted little boy.
His natural openness made it easy for him to make friends. He grew up a happy and inquisitive child in a quiet New Jersey Suburb. He began his formal education in Kings Daughter Pre-School.
He continued on through Christian elementary, middle schools. As a youth, Kyi attended Second Baptist Church in Perth Amboy, NJ and was involved in its Youth Activities. He enjoyed giving and receiving an abundance of love in a household that included his grandparents, Nan and Pop Pop aunts, Mona and LeAnna, his uncles, Christopher and Rashon, his cousin Trevor who served as his big brother along with his siblings Annisa”Brie” and Tulani Kyi as an adolescent along with his mother and siblings migrated from New Jersey to East Stroudsburg, PA.
and in 2011, he graduated from Stroudsburg High School. Blessed with inate intelligence that enabled him to grasp whichever subjects he was being taught with comfortable ease. He attended Kutztown University of Pennsylvania for a short time before he enlisted in the United States Air Force.
During his enlistment there, it was discovered that he had a birth defect with his back that shortened his enlistment in the military. After which, Kyi went on to earn his CDL (Commercial Drivers License) which enabled him to become a professional truck driver. His dad, Ronald owned a Trucking Company and hired his young son to drive his big rigs throughout these United States.
As a professional driver, Kyi had the opportunity see states that many people much older than he has never seen. He was a hard worker and never unemployed for any period of time. He was independent, self supporting and accepted responsibility without complaint.
We all know that Kyi’s open nature enabled him to navigate his life in which he knew no strangers. Kyi was very intelligent and could always be called on to solve family technical issues. He was not only well loved, he was well liked.
He was warm and always affectionate. He never just gave a peck on the cheek, to the older females he greeted, he gave his generously warm hug. There was a three word statement that Kyi never forgot to say to those he loved whenever he spoke to or saw them, “I LOVE YOU”.
Sometimes when he would visit his grandparents, Carol and Ray, who lived downstairs in their home, they might have turned in for the night, Kyi would enter their bedroom and lie between them just to let them know how much he loved them. Lest we forget, he was always followed by barking as he went, of their ever vigilant guard dog. Milo, their miniature doberman pinzer who literally hated Kyi so much so that he would sniff out his scent whenever he thought Kyi was in his space.
Kyi enjoyed the love/hate relationship he shared with Milo. “That is just Kyi,” his Nan, grandmother Carol, would declare no matter the situation. She spoke with him several days ago and prayed the Prayer of Salvation with him.
Kyi accepted Christ as his Personal Saviour, then upon completion, his statement was, I don’t understand it, but I accept it. How many of us can make that declaration. I don’t understand it, but I accept it.
Kyi was generally jovial, naturally affectionate and. Always hugging, Always laughing, Always smiling and Always saying “I LOVE YOU” He carried those traits for much of his life. On Saturday, December 8, 2018, God in His infinite wisdom had His ArchAngel Michael whispered into Kyi-Michael’s ear, it’s time for you to move from labor to reward.
It’s time to come home. Kyi-Michael Moore leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish fond memories, his parents Kimberly and Willie Wilburn and Ronald Moore, his grandparents, Carol and Raymond Boone and Nelda Moore. His great-grandmothers , Emma Mae Smith and Rosy Peterson.
His siblings, Tulani, Annissa Sheena, Corey, Keenan, Laquana and Avani. His aunts, uncles, cousins His God Parents, Shelly and Ernie Windham other relatives and many many friends. KYI-MICHAEL MOORE has joined in eternity, His grandfather Willie Davis, his great-grandfather, Charles E. Smith, Jr. his aunt Alexis, his uncles, Darryl, Richard, Eddie and other relatives THANK YOU KYI, FOR THE LIGHT, LOVE AND JOY YOU BROUGHT INTO OUR LIVES.
