Lacy’s Obituary Mr. Lacy Gilbert Cox, Jr., age 72, of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at home. He was born on March 5, 1946, in Robeson County to the late Lacy Gilbert Cox, Sr. and the late Margaret Hazel Britt Cox. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and the US Army Reserve.

He was formerly employed in the Weight Division of the NC Highway Patrol and was also a Deputy Sheriff in Robeson County. He is survived by his wife, Betty Cox of the home; two sons, Gilbert Duane Cox and wife Jayme of Seven Lakes and David Matthew Cox of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Jonathan Cox and Jordan Cox; one brother, Ronnie Cox and wife Rita of Lumberton; and one sister, Wanda Cox Bennett of Walterboro, SC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, 2019, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southeastern Hospice, 2002 N. Cedar Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.
