James Horace “Sonny Boy” Cox of Fairmont, North Carolina December 15, 1939 – February 11, 2019 Mr. James Horace “Sonny Boy” Cox, Sr., age 79 of Fairmont passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel at 2:00pm with Ronnie Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. He was born December 15, 1939 in Robeson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rossie Cox and Vera Anderson Cox; his wife, Julia Alice Walters Cox; two brothers Grady Cox and Lacy Cox; two sisters, Grace Sides and Ruth Rozier.

He is survived by one son, James “Jimmy” H. Cox, Jr. of Fairmont; one daughter, Selina Cox Tino and husband Lucky of Lumberton; four grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, Ryan, and Ande; two brothers, Henry Cox and Rossie Cox, Jr. both of Lumberton; two sisters, Alma Jewel Durden of Bladenboro and Katie Shepard of Lumberton.
