Lance James Garrett, Sr., age 85, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 7 at 2:00 PM at Pine Forest United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Garrett was a faithful member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Smalley Sunday School Class and the Golden Notes, and serving as a bus driver. He was a retired trucking Executive of ACT Trucking, in New Jersey. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and loved helping anyone in need.

Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; brothers, Eugene, Wendell, Billy, and Ray Garrett; parents, Landrum and Louise Garrett; brothers-in-law, Nathan Robertson and Edward Watson; sister-in-law, Catherine Garrett, and daughter-in-law, Karen Garrett. Survivors include his sons; Lance James Garrett, Jr. (Sharon) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, David Garrett (Sherry) of Orlando, FL, Lance “Jay” Garrett (Sue) of Northridge, CA, and Steve Garrett of Dublin, GA; daughter, Ann Garrett James (Donnie), of Roswell, GA; brother, Charles Garrett (Maxine) of Dublin, GA; sisters, Jeanelle Garrett Carter (Jerry) of Williamsburg, VA, Betty Lou Garrett Robertson of Rentz, GA, Dianne Garrett Watson of Dublin, GA; sister-in-law, Gloria Garrett of Winter Haven, FL; several nieces and nephews; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Casey Garrett, Jamie Watson, Bryan Watson, Ricky Alligood, Kelly Wyatt, and Randy Crews.
