Obituary for Lanell Young Woods Lanell Young Woods, 88, passed from her earthly body and into her heavenly home with her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, July 27, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family. Lanell was born February 28, 1930 to Fred and Kizzie Mae Young of Hazlehurst, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 30 years, Robert B. Woods, her daughter, Donna Tillman Carraway and her sister, Kathleen Calhoun. She is survived by her loving son, Wayne Tillman and wife Emma Lee Tillman; sister, Loyce Lewis; son-in-law, Bruce Carraway; granddaughters, Misti Tillman Smith (Alan) of Cumming GA, Kimberly Skinner Darby (Matt) of Pearl; grandson, Bobby Skinner, Jr. (Connie) of Georgetown; great grandchildren, Sydney Reagan and Cole Smith, Blakeney and Payne Skinner and Mattison and Talon Darby; many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law. Lanell was a loving, caring mother, wife, mother-in-law, grandmother and sister.

She enjoyed cooking, reading and playing bingo. She was a wonderful cook and loved cooking for her family. She loved the Lord and her family.

She will be missed so much by all who knew her and loved her. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Walker and all of her caregivers at Copiah Living Center for taking care of her these past 5 years. Pallbearers are Bobby Skinner, Jr., Alan Smith, Matt Darby, Dennis Lewis, Jr., Terry Channell and Jimmy Channell.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5pm-7pm at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be 10am Monday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Hazlehurst Cemetery. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Lanell Young Woods please visit our Sympathy Store.
