LaRay “Ray” Foxworth, Sr., 76, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 4, 2018 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life funeral service will be held 3:00 pm EST on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel (Vance Brooks Funeral Home) in Phenix City with Pastor Gerald Corbin officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EST, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Ray was born August 13, 1942 in Coffee County, AL to the late Grayer C. Foxworth and Winnie McCarthy Foxworth. He was employed with Dolly Madison in Columbus, GA with 35 years of loyal service.

His passion was Gospel music, for many years he enjoyed traveling, singing, and playing Gospel music with his family. He was a member of Gospel Music Association. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and was enormous Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

Ray cherished spending quality time with all his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Bush Road Emanuel Holiness Church in Smiths Station. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Richardson, a granddaughter, Lindsay Foxworth, and his brother, Howard Foxworth.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 ½ years, Sherry Faye Gates Foxworth, daughter, Rachael Tredeaux and husband Pierre, son LaRay “Little Ray” Foxworth, Jr. and wife Lisa, sister, Bettie Clayton, sister-in-law, Helen Foxworth, three grandchildren, Jonathon Foxworth, Kayle Richardson, and Grace Richardson, one precious great granddaughter, Taytum Foxworth, numerous other loving family members, church family, and many caring friends.
