Carolyn Emery (Sweatt) Freeman, 92, of Columbus, GA passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Muscogee Manor and Rehab Center in Columbus, GA. A memorial service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM EST with Columbus Hospice Chaplain Muriel Pitts officiating. Carolyn was born on December 2, 1925 in Columbus, GA to the late Eugene and Hilda Sweatt.

She graduated from Jordan High School with the class of 1943. Carolyn attended Striplin Terrace Methodist Church for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, but her passion was reading books.

Other than her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her first husband of 36 years, Aubrey Freeman; second husband, Doyle Compton; son-in-law, Steve Addlesee; sister, Betty Coppedge; brother, William Sweatt; great-granddaughter, Hope Bobo; and her fur baby, Chipper. Survivors include her daughter, Ellen Addlesee; son, Charles Freeman (Barbara); grandchildren, Eric Bobo, Scott Bobo, and Amanda Freeman; great-granddaughter, Claire Bobo. Flowers will be accepted or those choosing to may make a contribution to Paws Humane, 4900 Milgen Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
