Billy Lane Moore, 86, of Salem, AL passed away late Thursday night, October 11, 2018 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City, AL. A celebration of life funeral service will be held 11:00 am EST Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Freddie Evans officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Mr. Moore was born July 30, 1932 in Henry Co., VA (Dyers Store Area), to the late Jesse Thomas Moore and Mary Jane Cannaday Moore. He proudly served our country and was a retired Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He was the recipient of numerous awards, accommodations, and medals. He was a past Mason and a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed bowling, and spending quality time with all his family.

He was a man of character. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and the mother of his children, Lola Elizabeth Walker Moore, two brothers, Paul Moore and Jesse Moore, sister, Virginia Akers, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Wray Mullins. He is survived by his children, Kimberly Mullins of Panama City Beach, FL, Rodger Moore and wife Sandy of Salem, AL, Michael Moore of Panama City Beach, FL, Billy Moore Jr. and wife Sherry of Waverly Hall, GA, Rodney Moore and Angela Truitt of Panama City Beach, FL, Tammy Evans Moore of Smiths, AL; one sister, Betty Jean Earl and husband Phillip of Reno, NV, grandchildren, Thomas Moore (Megan), Victoria Hightower (Joshua), Tiffany Moore, Britton Moore, Madison Moore, Davison Moore (Christina), Jonathan Moore, Danielle Moore, and Elizabeth Moore, (8) great grandchildren, numerous extended family members, and many caring friends.
