Obituary for Larry August Cramton Larry August Cramton, 66, passed away, November 5, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Life Church in Stillwater, OK. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Larry was born in Yale, OK on August 22, 1952 to Lawrence and Lois Cramton. Larry grew up on the family farm South of Stillwater and graduated from C.E. Donart in 1970. After graduation Larry joined the Army Reserves where he served 5 years.

In 1975 Larry met and married the love of his life, Shiela (Thompson) Cramton. They were an instant family with children, Donna and Kevin, and in 1977 their family grew with the birth of a son, Skip Cramton. Throughout Larry’s early years he worked various jobs, often holding more than one job at a time to make ends meet.

In 1982 Larry began his Lineman career with The City of Stillwater, now known as Stillwater Power. Larry proudly served as a lineman for 35 years, retiring September 2017. In 1992 Larry was honored to join the Payne County Sheriff’s Dept.

as a Reserve Deputy where he served until his passing. Larry and Shiela became active in the sheep business in 1992 after son, Skip, won an ewe lamb in an essay contest. Larry created Hill Top Farms Montadales where they raised show sheep and competed against other farms for championship breed until 2010.

This endeavor took them all over the U.S. where they made many friends they consider family. Larry and Shiela joined the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA), Chapter X in 2010. They traveled all over the U.S., visiting Canada three times with their Chapter.

Again making many friends they call family. Larry enjoyed working on his farm and spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed his involvement as an active member of the Stillwater Ag Booster Club.

Most recently Larry enjoyed helping son, Skip, and grandkids build their home on the family farm. Larry is survived by wife Shiela, children, Terri Threlkeld, Donna Smith, Kevin Clayton and Skip Cramton, grandkids that call him Papa, Baylor Alan, Tyler Allen, Banner Vance, Preston Scott, Brice Allen, Kaylyn Irene, Ava Grace, Kylye Nicole and Mary Katherine and a long list of friends he loved and considered his family. In lieu of flowers the family has requested you consider making a donation to the Payne County Sheriff’s Reserve or Stillwater Ag Booster Club.
