Nancy R. Malstaff, 76, of Walkerton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at her home after a brief illness. Nancy was born on September 15, 1942 in LaPorte to Walling and Helen (Vantine) Rose. Nancy was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from North Liberty High School in 1962.

She retired after 40 years as a professional wall-paper hanger and painter. She was a true interior designer and had a fantastic eye for color. Her home was decorated for every season and holiday and she believed in the magic of Christmas.

Nancy had many interests and hobbies. She was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard and gardening. She had a true green thumb.

Her yard was filled with beautiful flowers, fish ponds filled with many fish and frogs and yard art for every season. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her greatest pleasure was cooking Sunday night dinner for her family.

Nancy is survived by her 4 daughters, Tamie (Dan) Pudlo, Tonya Cook and Teresa Mago all of North Liberty, Tracie (Brandon) Patrick of Walkerton. 8 grandchildren; Stephanie (Frank) Kuespert, Allison Pudlo, Jamie and Ethan Cook, Jillian and Matthew Mago, Austin and Ryder Patrick and 1 great-grandchild; Sam Kuespert. She is also survived by her brothers Gerald “Jerry” of Walkerton and David (Sandy) Rose of Plymouth and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Melvin and Richard “Ricky” in 1971 and grandson, Zachary “Zac” Mago who God moved on July 5, 2018. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 2nd at 11:00 am EST at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Per her wishes, there will be no visitation.
