Larry Bostock, the son of Margaretta (Reibolt) and Ollie Bostock, was born August 15, 1940 at Hastings, Nebraska. He departed this life on Monday, May 27, 2019 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 12 days. Larry received his formal education attending the Blue Hill schools and graduated with the class of 1958.

Larry served his country with the National Guards from 1958-1962. In his youth he enjoyed the sport of boxing and participated in the Golden Gloves from 1960 through 1962. He reigned as the Lightweight Champion in both 1961 and 1962.

On June 30, 1962 Larry was united in marriage with Connie Graham. They made their home at Ayr where this union was blessed with two sons. They later moved to Oregon where they resided for nine years and two daughters were born during this time.

The family then returned to Nebraska where they lived in the Blue Hill area and later moved to their farm home south of Red Cloud. Larry worked putting up hay and raising cattle. For ten summers he worked in Alaska helping Dave Short with his roofing company, along with enjoying all the hunting, fishing and antique shopping that he could fit into his schedule.

Larry continued raising his cattle and attending area farm sales with his friend, Jay Gillett. He greatly enjoyed his morning coffee groups and storytelling. Recently during his illness, he enjoyed many call and visits from friends and family.

Larry lived a very full life and enjoyed sharing his stories from his many adventurous trips. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Preceding him in death were his parents; grandson, Ryan Bostock; and two brothers-in-law, Darrell “Nick” Nichols and Al Graham.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Connie Bostock; children, Mark and Ashly Bostock, John and Bethann Bostock, Becky and Al Kilpatrick, and Billie and Bill Mahaffy. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Lindsey (Cody) Cassler, Amanda (Andrew) Faher, Brian Bostock, Ruby Bostock, Bella Bostock, Shelby (Allen) Anderson, Jared Bostock, Alex Kilpatrick, Kate Kilpatrick, Michaelea Kennedy, Ella Mahaffy and Will Mahaffy; great grandchildren: Ben and Ellie Cassler; brothers, Lyle and Sandy Bostock, and his twin, Lonny and Norma Bostock; two sisters, Ollene Graham and Brenda Nichols; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many good friends. Services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., June 1, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Red Cloud with Roger Hammond officiating.

Interment will be at the Wagoner Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the family present on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Morrison Cancer Center in Hastings or the Wagoner Cemetery.
