Larry Eugene Foster, Jr, age 54, lost his fight to cancer Saturday, October 13, 2018. He was surrounded with love til his final day. Larry was born June 23, 1964 to Larry Foster, Sr and Pamela Pierson, and was the oldest of their four children.
Larry was a hard working man all of his life. His passion was always cooking, but if he could’ve lived out his dream he would’ve been a racecar driver. He loved fiercely—family, football, food, and music.
He was the strong silent type, yet if… Read More » you talked about the right thing you wouldn’t have known it. He was smart as a whip too. Of all that he was though, his biggest trait was his ability to be stubborn as a mule, which he proved til his dying day.
And he was even stronger than he was stubborn. He was the strongest man I’ve ever known. Despite all the struggles through his life, he faced everything head on with fists up.
“There are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on”. These lyrics resonate with Larry to a T. Just as he would face any struggle that came his way, he could adapt and change to keep moving forward in the pursuit of happiness. He was a “city boy” in New Orleans most of his life, til Katrina “gave him the worst blow job ever,” and he left there to start his life over elsewhere—which essentially led to him leading a slower lifestyle, and finding joy and love again.
One thing the cancer can’t take away is all of the love and happiness Larry had. Give him: some good food to cook, Led Zeppelin on the radio, a cold Pepsi to drink, a LSU or Saints game on the tv, his mom to love, his sisters be so proud of, the chance to be a father figure, his nieces and nephews to watch grow & be proud of, days to play with his grandkids, a life of love to share with his wife, a day to fish with his brother-in-law turned friend, his cousins he adored…he would be a happy man. And a very loved man who will forever be deeply missed.
“These are the seasons of emotion, and like the winds, they rise and fall”. Larry is survived by his wife, Trina; mother, Pamela Pierson; father, Larry Foster, Sr.; sister, Misty Bragg and Penny Conway; brother-in-laws, Gary Conway and Robert Sutton; nieces and nephews, Chris VanDuyn, Kayla Stanley, Kaitlyn Ewing, Shawn Ewing, Amber Robbins and grandchildren, Wyatt, Cheyenne, and Jake Robbins; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Larry was preceded in death by his younger brother, Mark Edward Foster.
Memorial services are to be determined and the family will notify everyone once an official day and time is set. “If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you”.
