Larry Gene Moore, 69, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, at 8:05 a.m., at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Hillsboro, IL. Cremation rites were accorded. Per Larry’s request, there will be a private gathering at the family farm in Coffeen, IL.

Mr. Moore was born on September 5, 1949, in Springfield, IL, to the late William Paul “Boots” and Anna Mae (Newell) Moore of Coffeen, IL. He was a 1967 Graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL and worked at Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, along with maintenance at Montgomery County Courthouse, Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Moore served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1975.

He was an active member of the Moose Lodge, Hillsboro, IL and former member of Hillsboro Lions Club, who loved history, enjoyed reading, country music, the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Moore is survived by his son, Paul Moore, Girard, IL; daughter, Andrea (Husband, Tim) Wight, Irving, IL; three grandchildren, Anna Jackson, Irving, IL, Christian Jackson, Greenville, IL, and Arlo Wight, Irving, IL; two brothers, Wilbur Anthony “Tony” Moore, Nokomis, IL and Jim (Wife, Barbara) Moore, Hillsboro, IL; and three sisters, Paula (Husband, Gene) Redman, Highland, IL, Linda (Husband, Bob) Raines, Trenton, IL, and Joyce (Husband Gary) Zerrusen, Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.
