Obituary for Larry Lee Walker Larry Lee Walker, 83, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at The Addison of Pleasant Prairie. Born in Todd County, MN, on January 26, 1935, he was the son of the late Leo and Wilma (Campbell) Walker. He went on to graduate from the Wahpeton State School of Science for commercial refrigeration and heating.
On August 12, 1955, he married Janis Graham in Wadena, MN. They moved to the Kenosha area in August of 2015. Larry owned and operated Graham Refrigeration until his retirement in 1991.
He also worked as a private contractor for Red Owl Stores and was key in installing new stores and remodeling. He successfully developed many new products for which he held patents. In his earlier years, Larry was a member of the Full Gospel Business Men, hosting many dinners at his home.
Larry’s favorite thing to do was going to his lake home in MN to relax; although he rarely sat still. He and Jan traveled the world with their friends, often times taking three trips a year. Survivors include his loving wife, Jan; six children, Dr. Jon Scott (Lynn) Walker of Jacksonville, FL, Dr. Thomas Alan (Mary) Walker of Boulder, CO, Dr. David Ray (Hirae) Walker of Gurnee, IL, Dr. Daniel Jay (Sara) Walker of Antioch, IL, Julie Lynn (Bob) Walker-Wright of Woodbury, MN, and Suzann Marie (Bill) Hammel of Kenosha; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra (Ray) South and Josephine (Thomas) Fern, both of MN; a sister-in-law, Verlene (Art) Reif of CA; and two brothers-in-law, Gary (Marion) Graham of MN, and Tim (Pam) Graham of SD.
He is further survived by other special family and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Phyllis Branstner, Beverly Booen, and Glenice Buschke. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 28th, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
