LaVerne Adkins, 68, of Cabot, died Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Baptist Springhill Hospital in Little Rock. She was born May 29, 1950 in Newport to the late David and Goldie (Odom) Elgen. Laverne loved her family with all her heart.

She loved spending time with her family, her husband whom she adored, cooking and long talks with her daughters. Her family was her life. She will be remembered as a selfless wife and mother who always had a smile even when times were tough.

She had a silent strength and never complained and always looked to a better future. As always graceful even till the day God called her home. She is survived by her husband of 33 ½ years, Sammy Adkins; sister, Bernice Bostick; daughters, Candice Falls, Myke Holder and Brandy Maroney; grandchildren, Rachael Lee, Amanda McNeil, Christopher Falls, Zachary Falls, Paul Stovall, Samantha Stovall, Gavin Maroney, Ryan Maroney and 6 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jerry, Elwood, and Alvin Elgen; and her daughter, Angela Lynn Phillips. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
