Funeral service for LaVerne Nunn Stacks, 89, will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Speed and Rev. Charles Shaddix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Herring Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church. Mrs. Stacks passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital.

She was born June 14, 1929, in Ohio, to Henry Grady Nunn and Maude Willie Fitzgerald Nunn. Mrs. Stacks was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle since 1966. She loved to serve others when they were in need.

She was the chairperson of the bereaved family food service at First Baptist Church of Hartselle and delivered Meals on Wheels. Missions work in her Community and her church work were her passions. She was employed as a switchboard operator for Bellsouth prior to her retirement.

Preceding her in death were her husband: Fred E. Stacks, her parents and two brothers: Warren and J.L. Nunn and one sister: Ruth M. Gay. Survivors include: One Son: Fred E. Stacks, Jr. (Verna) One Daughter: Vicky Stacks Tyler (Tony) One Brother: Samuel Nunn (Phyllis) Four Grandchildren: Erin Howard (Jason), Jordan Tyler (Kathryn), Tommy Stacks (Megin) and Elizabeth Stacks In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church Food Services Committee or to your favorite charity.
