Mrs. Laverne’s Obituary On October 6, 2018, Laverne Watson Randolph was called home to be with the Lord. Laverne was born April 21, 1962, in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late Walter Watson Jr. and Carrie Lee Jenkins Watson. At an early age, she joined Liberty Hill Baptist Church and faithfully served on the usher board until her health failed.

On June 17, 1981, Laverne married the love her life Stanley Randolph, Sr. Who he referred to her as “Mary Ann”. She graduated from Holly Hill-Roberts High School in 1980. Laverne has reunited with her parents, Walter and Carrie Lee, Saquion (nephew), and the rest of the family whom has gone on to be with the Lord.

Laverne was a bus driver for Orangeburg Consolidated School District Three for 23 years, and she served as a shadow at Lake Marion High School. She also worked for American Yard Products, Orangeburg County Summer Recreation Free Lunch Program, cosmetic consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetic and financial agent for Primerica Financial Services. Before Laverne’s illness, in her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, going to sporting events (baseball, basketball, and football), interior designing, but most of all, fussing at her boys Pedro, Mond, Stanley and her grandchildren.

Laverne leaves to cherish her life and legacy her loving husband Stanley Randolph Sr., who held her hand until her last breathe of air. Three children: Cadidra (Michael) Asbury, Depedro Randolph, and Stanley Randolph, Jr., and four children she loved as her own Latisha (Terry) Powell, Shakyra Bunch, Marki (Zelphine) Dixon and Domonique Davis. Laverne will also be fondly remembered by her thirteen grandchildren: Michael Asbury Jr., Michaya Asbury, Maveah Asbury, Mayah Asbury, Marlee Asbury, Demond Randolph Jr., Demonti Randolph, Demoni Randolph, Demari Randolph, Depedro Randolph Jr., D’Nyah Randolph (grandma’s little nurse), London Sheard, and Amyrie Powell.

Her three siblings Barbara F. Watson, Willie (Ella Mae) Watson, and Nathaniel (Joan) Watson. A mother –in– law Mary Jane Randolph Brown, brothers and sisters-in–law: Joe Lewis Smalls, Robert (Susie) Randolph, Detra (Tony) Williams, Maggie Blocker, Harold (Robin) Capers, Bridget Capers, Charles (Brenda) Capers, Barbara Capers, Darrell Anderson and Gregory Anderson. Three godchildren Titus Watson, Attache’ Watson, and Nathan Watson.

One special student JaQuez Gilliard. Her aunts who took great care of her Rebecca Jenkins, Elizabeth (Jimmy) Meekins, Willa Mae (Jeffrey) Holland, Anna Lee Jenkins, Barbara Watson, and Ruthie Watson. Her uncles James (Linda) Watson, Johnny Wigfall, Morris Watson, Mervin Watson, Willie Watson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
