Obituary for Lawrence Dale Miller Lawrence “Dale” Miller, 61, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Clothier, WV, departed this life on April 20, 2018 while at home surrounded by his family. Dale fought a long battle with black lung disease. He was a gracious organ donor recipient and enjoyed several years of healthy life after his double lung transplant in 2010.

Dale was born in Madison, WV to the late Thomas & Betty Miller. He grew up in Sharples and was a 1976 graduate of Sharples High School. He was an underground coal miner, retired from Long Branch Energy.

Dale was a very proud Papaw to his two grandchildren, Robbie & Addison Miller. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with Robbie & Addison, and riding around the beach on his Slingshot. Dale was also preceded in death by his wife Debbie McNeely Miller, his brother Denver Miller, and his sister Faye Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his son Robbie (Stephanie) Miller and grandchildren Robbie & Addison Miller of Myrtle Beach, SC; Sisters Sharon (Michael) Holcomb of Indore, WV; Jeannie Wilson of Fairmount, IN; Karletta Walls-Dowling of Versailes, IN; Brother Donnie (Cherie) Miller of Elkview, WV; and two children Morgan Ford & Jacob Hughes, who he considered as his own. Visitation will be at Handley’s Funeral Home in Danville, WV on Saturday, April 28 at 1:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev.
