Lawrence’s Obituary Born August 17, 1937 in Marion, Iowa, Larry was the son of Howard and Olive [Minor] James. He grew up in Marion where his parents worked for Collins Radio. While in high school he met Patricia “Pat” Ozburn.

Following high school, Larry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He and Patricia were married October 27, 1957 during his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base. He was based in Japan during the Korean Conflict and served 4 years of active duty.

Larry began his career with Collins Radio from an entry level position which transitioned into a successful 35 year career with the company. He retired from Rockwell Collins in 1992. He was a lab technician for most of his life.

A jack of all trades, Larry was always working on automobiles and fixing things in peoples homes. He was a hard worker and spent many years caring for his parents as well as his in-laws. Larry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
