Lawrence Wesley Gable, 67, of Alvin passed away on December 26, 2018. Lawrence was born on March 13, 1951 in San Antonio to Jack and Nelda (Bandy) Gable. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to fish and to hunt when he was younger.

He was extremely good at math and loved working with numbers. He also had a knack for wood carving. Shooting pool was something that he was excellent at and he taught the skill to his nieces and nephews.

He will always be known as “Mama’s baby” and the love and attention that he gave to his mother will always be treasured. Lawrence was preceded in death by his father Jack Gable, stepfather Harris Baskin “Tiny” Culpepper and his sister Linda Pesce. Those left to remember him include his mother Nelda Rhodes and husband Ralph; children Jarad Garner and Larry Stroman: sister Trudy Pouncey; brother Kenneth Culpepper; and numerous other family members and friends.
