Leanor A. Maturo of Hackensack was 80 years old when she passed away at home Saturday, September 22nd surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City, Leanor lived in Bergen County most of her life. Leanor was a prolific holiday baker, an avid Yankees fan and a word find champion!

After raising her children and creating a loving home for family and friends, she returned to school to study nursing, a lifelong dream. Leanor was the beloved wife of Joseph Maturo for over 63 years. She was the devoted mother of her daughter Theresa Maturo and her spouse Cynthia Brogdon, son Joseph Maturo,Jr.

, daughter Claire Torres, daughter Christine Demiris, and daughter Michelle Petrazzuolo and her husband William. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law Mary Sestanovich, her cherished grandchildren; Marissa Tattoli, Byron Maturo, Jocelyn Maturo, Peter Torres, and Victoria Demiris and great grandchildren Caitlin, Charlie, and Claudia. A memorial mass will be celebrated in her memory Friday, October 19th at 11am at the Holy Trinity Church in Hackensack.

Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of her life at Sanzari’s New Bridge Inn Restaurant in New Milford, immediately following the mass. The family requests any donations in her honor be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity Lea and Joe have supported since they were newlyweds. To the world you were a Mother.
