Obituary for Lee E. Cann Jr. Lee E. Cann, Jr., 61, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018, at home surrounded by family. Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Friday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot of Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 9:45 a.m. The celebration of Lee’s life will continue at the Buffalo Bill Shelter at Scott County Park beginning at Noon Friday with a weenie roast.

Friends and family are invited to bring a dish to share and your own drinks. Everything else will be provided. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Lee Emmett Cann, Jr. was born July 9, 1957, in Moline, the son of Lee Sr. and Alma Frances (Raub) Cann. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

He married Elizabeth Mae McNamara on September 25, 1999, in Bettendorf. Previously, he had been married to Lavinna Moore, with whom he had three children. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for 36 years, retiring in 2013.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Baseball was a big part of Lee’s life. He played baseball, coached his children’s teams for many years, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Above all else, family was the most important thing to Lee. Lee is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Cann; his father, Lee E. Cann, Sr. of Bettendorf; three children, William (Sarah) Cann of Davenport, Rebecca (Joseph Dusenberry) Cann-Dusenberry of Ankeny, Iowa, and Kurtis Cann of Colorado Springs, Colorado; step-children, Carrie (Al) Hotchkiss of Waukee, Iowa, and Joshua Timm of Oak Harbor, Washington; grandchildren, Ryan, Weston, Benjamin, Owen, Bailey, Sydney, Gracey, Lilly, Elijah, Leah, Tessa, and Mason; siblings, Linda (Gary) Sims of Morton’s Gap, Kentucky, Kathy (Tony) Nicoletto of Bettendorf, Sharon Poell of Davenport, and Tina (Jack) Lutgen of Bettendorf; his four fur babies, Buckshot, Tia, Chewy, and Addiemae; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fran.
