Big Stone Gap, VA Leeroy C. Coughlin, ‘L.C.”, 93, passed away on Friday (May 24, 2019) at his home. He was born in Wise County, VA, attended King College and there met his wife, Nina Coughlin, married and has lived in Big Stone Gap ever since. They had four children together.

L.C. was the owner of the family’s automotive business, Coughlin Sales. He sold Harley Davidson’s, and later Jeeps in the area. He loved hunting.

He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Big Stone Gap, he was recognized as the oldest living member. He was preceded in death by his parents,; Paul Leeroy Coughlin, and Georgia Couglin (Alley) his wife Nina Coughlin, and a son-in-law, Allen Mink. Surviving are two daughters, Jan Coughlin and Kaye Mink, both of Big Stone Gap; two sons, Ronny (Kathy) Coughlin of Bridgeport, WV, and Bob (Pat) Coughlin of Big Stone Gap; eight grandchildren, Jerred (Ashley) Mink, Liz (Ty) Tavernier, Darcie Mink, Dr. Eric (Brittany) Coughlin, Justin Coughlin, Matt (Sarah) Coughlin, Niki Coughlin and Rob Coughlin; eight great grandchildren; sister in law, Dora Jane Arronson of Charlotte, NC; his sister Callie Anne Clark ( W.H.) several nieces and nephews, special caregivers are Loice Ramey, Becky Lawson, Shelley Fawbush, Emily Trent, Brenda Coomer and Selena Edwards.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap (17 E. 3rd St.) The funeral service will be conducted following in the funeral Home’s Chapel with Dr. Garrett Sheldon officiating. Special music will be provided by Cody Mabe The graveside committal service will be held following in Glencoe Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be; Eric Coughlin, Justin Coughlin, Matt Coughlin, Rob Coughlin, Jerred Mink, Kaleb Mink, Kolton Stidham.
