Lena’s Obituary Lena Mae Willard entered eternal rest on February 6, 2019, peacefully at her residence The Forum of Overland Park, KS. She lived a wonderful 99 years and 11 months. She was born in Mt.

Grove, MO to John and Mable Hicks, and for 64 years enjoyed a magnificent marriage with Conrad R. Willard, all of whom she shares with the riches of our Lord for eternity. Conrad and Lena Mae were partners in Christian Ministry serving churches in Ok, KY, MO, and their last pastorate of 26 years in Miami, FL. Early in her life she was committed to foreign missions.

Conrad’s ministry reached many different parts of our world, and she went with him on many occasions. Lena Mae was a most vivacious and exciting speaker and spoke to Kiwanis Clubs, women’s missionary events, church groups, and to many foreign missionary retreats, particularly in South America. Laughingly, Conrad used to say that she was in more demand as a speaker than he was.

As a minister’s wife, many young pastors’ wives have modeled their ministries after hers. She is survived by her two daughters & husbands, Sherri & Fred Fishel of Lebanon, MO and Patricia Willard & John Goodson of Cambridge, MA. Her three adoring grandchildren and their spouses are Laura & Mike Deane of St. Louis, MO, Alisa & Tim Roth of Kansas City Missouri, and Derek & Brooke Fishel of Washington, DC.

In addition, she is survived by six great grandchildren and other dear family members. A funeral service will be held at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave. , Kansas City, MO, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Lena Mae Hicks Willard Trust” for foreign missions in care of the Southern Baptist Foundation, 901 Commerce St. Suite 600, Nashville, TN 37203. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Her life on March 23, 2019 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at The Forum, 3501 West 95th St, Overland Park, KS.
