Obituary for Mr. Lenward Anthony Faison RALEIGH – Lenward “Len” Anthony Faison, was born on July 9, 1955 to the late Robert Lee Faison and Pearlene Miller Faison. He grew up in Kenansville, NC, attending E.E. Smith Elementary School and graduating from James Kenan High School in 1973. In 1974, Len joined the United States Navy, serving his country for a total of 20 years and retiring honorably on December 22, 1995.

He traveled extensively with the military, making friends in Key West, FL, Bermuda, Wales, Point Sur, CA, Dam Neck, VA, Guam and the Philippines. After retiring from the Navy, Len made his home in Virginia Beach before joining Lockheed Martin in 1996. He toured the Pacific Ocean, completing assignments in locations such as Japan and Hawaii, retiring in 2005.

In 2011, Len settled in Raleigh, NC to be closer to his medical team as he battled renal failure. Len transitioned at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh on Monday, June 18th at approximately 3:00am. He is survived by one sister, Linda D. Faison of Raleigh, NC; one niece, Crystal Faison-Mitchell (Travis) of Atlanta, GA, a beloved great aunt, Nina (Miller) Belton of Kenansville, NC, and a host of 1st and 2nd cousins.

A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, 1:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 195 Kenansville Hwy, Warsaw, NC 28398.
