Obituary for Leo Joseph Schneider Leo J. Schneider, 76 of Saint Anthony passed away Monday July 9th in Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. He was born April 12, 1942 to Alois & Jeanette (Schulthies) Schneider. He married Donna J. Heidorn on April 12, 1969 in St. Mary’s Church in Huntingburg.

Leo retired in 2010 from Hasenour Motor Company in St. Anthony as a mechanic after 38 years. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony Legion post #493, Huntingburg V.F.W., Jasper 40/8 and the St. Anthony Community Center. He was active in local & district Scouting and was a local scout leader for many years.

He was the district leader for popcorn sales to promote scouting. His hobbies were gardening, fishing, small engine repair, he loved animals, outdoors, and was an avid coin collector. Surviving are his wife, Donna J. Schneider, two daughters, Melanie Todd (Bill) of Greenwood, and Sandy Gregson of Ferdinand.

One son, Kyle Schneider (Paola) of Milpitas, CA. Four grandchildren, Megan Todd, Michael Gregson, Lauren Todd, and Bexley Schneider. Sisters, Mary Ann (Dave) Bachman of Ireland, Fran (Jeff) Purdy of Newburgh, Dorothy (George) Kimmel of Cuzco, Theresa Lutrell of Petersburg, Helen (Roger) Hagman of Leopold.

Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM Saturday July 14th in Divine Mercy Parish, St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial with military graveside rites by St. Anthony Legion Post 493. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and after 9:00 AM Saturday at the church.

Family vigil service at 1:30 Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.
