Leo Wilson of Lonoke, 96, passed away on March 4, 2019 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Lonoke County, Arkansas to John Lafayette Wilson and Jennie Finch on January 21, 1923. A child of the Depression, he learned hard work and dedication—traits he carried through his life.

After high school, he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Iowa; then for 40 years, he served as a Wrecker Foreman and Carman with the Rock Island Railroad. Leo’s dedication shone through his commitment to his family and to his wife of 65 years, Bernice Johnson, who he dearly loved. Together, they raised two sons, Kenneth and Kyle, and enjoyed simple holidays spent with life-long friends and an extended family of brothers, nieces and nephews, and many grandchildren.

Above all, Leo was dedicated to God. Every meal was received with a blessing and every Sunday was spent in church. But more importantly, every step in between was made humbly with his God.

Today, he is in Heaven with Bernice and his parents, four of his brothers and sisters, and their son, Ken. Please join us to honor the life of a dedicated man at 1:30pm on March 9, 2019 at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke, Arkansas for visitation. Funeral will follow at 2:30pm.
