Chesterfield, SC Mr. Leon Edward Lisenby, age 93, entered into rest on Friday, January 18, 2019. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Monday, January 21, 2019 at Thompson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Dan Austin.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:30 – 2:30 PM at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home. Mr. Lisenby was born June 25, 1925 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Ed Andrew and Eva Teal Lisenby. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

A retired employee of Fredrickson Motor Express, Leon enjoyed farming, gardening and fishing. His favorite pastimes were mowing and driving his tractor. In addition to his parents, Leon was also preceded in death his granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Lisenby; and brother, Otis Lisenby.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Ethel Gibson Lisenby of the home; children, Dennis E. Lisenby of Ruby, SC and Melba L. (Barry) Skipper of Supply, NC; grandchildren, Matthew (Kody) Lisenby of Ruby, SC and Bryan (Jessica) Skipper of Supply, NC; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Brock of Cheraw, SC and Flora Belle (Bill) Lavender of Thomasville, NC; also numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, SC (www.
