Leona E. Jacob, age 77, of Liberty Borough, died September 2, 2018, at home. Born March 17, 1941, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Thayer and Milda (Schneider) Dawson and the wife of George M. Jacob. Leona dedicated her life to caring for her family.

In addition to her husband, Leona is survived by her daughter, Lynn A. (Michael) Horvath of Columbia, MD; siblings, Mildred Dawson of White Oak, Thayer (Barbara) Dawson, Jr., of Barnesville, PA and Joan Pointer of Crownpoint, IN; also many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Nicholas Jacob; siblings, John Frank Dawson, Jean Stegman and William Dawson. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, September 7, 2018 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Funeral service will be held in the Mt.

Vernon Cemetery Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Father Joshua Makoul officiating. Burial will follow with a graveside blessing. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.
