OBITUARY Leona J. Rockwell February 25, 1957 – November 14, 2018 Leona Jane Rockwell, 61 of Vero Beach, Florida peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2018 while holding her daughters hand and looking at the beautiful sunrise that morning. She was born on February 25, 1957 in Berkeley Springs. Leona resided in Vero Beach, Florida with her partner Martin Koliner, and step son Michael Koliner.

She received her GED and nursing certificate from James Rumsey Technical Institute. She fulfilled her career as a nursing assistant whole heartedly, caring for her patients as if they was her own family. Leona put others needs before her own, and found great joy in helping people in any way she possibly could.

She also enjoyed gardening, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Leona is survived by children: James Rockwell and wife Crista of Hedgesville, Lisa Rockwell and husband Kirk Ambrose of Martinsburg; grandchildren: Tyler Allen Tribby of Martinsburg and William Dillion Rockwell of Hedgesville; brothers: Frederick Kyne and wife Peggy of Martinsburg, John Kyne of Martinsburg and Frank Kyne of Berkeley Springs; sister: Yvonne Gladden of Hagerstown, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick Kyne and Bonadean Louise Young; brothers: Lester Kyne, Paul Kyne, and Michaels Kyne; sister: Gladys Kyne and a step son David Lee Koliner.

A visitation will be held on Monday November 19, 2018 from 12-1 pm at Rosedale Funeral Home with funeral services to immediately follow. Entombment will be in Rosedale Cemetery. Leona will be deeply missed, and live on in the hearts of the many lives that she touched.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research Center.
