Obituary for Leona Marie Hocking Brennan Leona Marie Hocking Brennan passed away Friday afternoon at Big Sky Senior Living. She was born Monday, August 9, 1926 in Charleston, Oregon to Arthur L. and Ruth L. (Boner) Hewitt. On November 6, 1946 she married Jack Hocking in Portland, Oregon and they settled in Butte in 1949.

Following his death, she married Thomas J. Brennan on December 6, 1962. Leona worked as a nurse’s aide at St. James Hospital for a short time but was most happy as a stay at home mother and taking care of her family. She was an avid bowler and spent many weekends with her husband Tom at their cabin at near Wise River.

Leona is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Allison Hocking of Denver, Colorado, Michael and Terri Hocking of Butte, Terry Hocking of New Hope, Minnesota, daughter and son-in-law, Staci and Tom Davis of Butte, grandchildren: Jack Hocking, Adam and Samantha Hocking, Colter and Lindsey Hocking, Kyle Hocking, McCall and Ryan Anderson, Brynn and Scott Sadler, Cassie and Jason Boggess and Dan Davis. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Frances Spradlin and Margaret Hayes and her life-long friend and partner in crime, Letha Dawson. Besides her parents and both husbands, she is preceded in death by her brothers, William, Oscar, George and Lloyd Hewitt, her sisters, Mildred Hutson, Cecilia Sigala, Agnes Hulse, Annetta Grantz and Barbara Heuvel.
