Obituary for Leonard Valko Leonard Valko, age 79, of Carroll Twp. passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his home. He was born on November 24, 1938 in Monessen, a son of the late Michael and Anna (Glotz) Valko.

Mr. Valko was a retired roll grinder for U.S. Steel Irvin Works. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and never missed watching a game. He enjoyed going to the Steelers training camp with his late son Lenny Jr. yearly.

He loved traveling especially to Bermuda and the Caribbean Islands. He was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Charleroi and the Mon Valley Shipmates. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy (Yohe) Valko, his son Leonard Valko Jr., and three siblings, Edward Valko, George Valko, and Agnes Mason.

Mr. Valko is survived by his wife of 23 years, Arlene (Bazy) Valko; children Heather (Chris) Talley of Cary, NC; Kevin (Alysia) Newman of Monessen, Kimberley Valko (Brian Ramsey) of Monroeville; a daughter in-law Kelly Valko of Virginia; 11 grandchildren, Piper, Tarin, Kyle, Ethan, Zdayno, Gabriella, Raymond, Kimberly, Kira, Jaeden, and Cassia; three siblings, Henry (Carol) Valko of Belle Vernon, Roseann Valko of West Newton, and Irene Baker of Belle Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICE INC. , Donora, PA 15033 (724)-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018.

Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, July 9 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Robert Hanna officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
