Leroy Edward Johnson was born March 1, 1947 in Claremore, Oklahoma. Soon after graduating, he began his service in the United States Army in 1965. While there he fought in the Vietnam War, until he was honorably discharged in 1972.

He went home for a short period of time before coming to Kanas City to begin a new life. He worked many jobs before settling down with Mary Ann McClenton and her three children. Later having two sons of their own.

LeRoy was a loving but strict father. He loved to sing his favorite song and cook for his family. He was loved by all.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sophia Vann, father, Eddie Johnson, brother, Bill Day, sister, Mrs. Riley, son, Laron Johnson, step-daughter, Alicia McClenton and grandson, Marion McClenton. He leaves behind one sister, Maleda Ann; wife, Mary McClenton; oldest son, Damond Johnson; only daughter, Deidre Johnson; youngest son, JD Johnson; stepson, Jerome McClenton; stepdaughter, Tamika McClenton; step-granddaughter, Lil Mary L. McClenton; step-grandson, Marvin McClenton; two sisters-in-law, Debra Mitchell and Betty Spring; mother-in-law, Ms. Luella Washington; niece, Charlotte Riley and a host of family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Mt.

Calvary COGIC 2422 Van Brunt Blvd. KCMO. Visitation 10:00 A.M. Interment 12:30 P.M. in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
