Leslie Eugene Reid, 87, of Hanceville, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was born July 5, 1931 to Leslie Boyd and Ella Beatrice Lewis Reid. Mr. Reid was a machine operator and worked for Daubert before his retirement.

Eugene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Often referring to those he loved by the special nickname he had given each of them, Eugene loved his family and enjoyed being in their presence. He was a special man and will be missed greatly by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ella Reid. Survivors include his wife, Freeda Gregory Reid; sons, Kenny (Cindy) Reid, Jerry (Linda) Reid, Richard (Patty) Reid, Jeffery Reid; daughter, Linda (Travis) White; sister, Opal Young; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Services for Mr. Reid will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Jeremy Collier officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until the service begins at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow services in Holly Pond Cemetery. Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve the Reid family.
