Obituary for Lewis A. Lizotte Lewis Albert Lizotte, 80, formerly of Enfield and Somers, passed away peacefully at his home in Pompano Beach, FL, surrounded by his family, Sept. 2, 2018. Lewis was born and raised in Caribou, ME and was the son of the late Paul and Pauline (Paradis) Lizotte.

He enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 19 and served his country honorably. Following his service, he lived in Chicago and then moved to CT to help with his father in construction business. He proudly owned and operated Lizotte Construction for over 40 years.

He was also an accomplished martial artist who opened the first Karate school in Enfield in 1966, and later owned and operated several more Karate schools continuing to be an avid Karate tournament promoter. A true life achievement, Lewis won the 1963 Karate World Championship. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Washington Irving Council 50 in Enfield and was an avid reader in his spare time.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Arlene (Buttacavoli) Lizotte, a daughter, Michelle Lizotte-Waniewski and her husband Thomas of Deerfield Beach, FL; a son, Paul Charles Lizotte of Suffield; three grandchildren, Samantha Marie Waniewski, and Spencer David and Olivia Amy Lizotte. He also leaves a brother, Charles Lizotte and his wife Tarana of Arlington, TX, three sisters, Lennea Lizotte of Framingham, MA, Joyce Armata and her husband Thomas of Houston, TX, Gloria Rancourt and her husband Robert of Port Charlotte, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Jacobs.

Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday Sept. 21, 2018 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. , Enfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at St. Patrick Church (please meet at church) in Enfield. Committal is private and will be held at the family’s convenience.
