Obituary for Mrs. Lillian M. Dowdy Lillian M. Dowdy (nee Smith) age 70 years of Gibbstown died Tuesday July 24, 2018 in Inspira Hospital, Woodbury. Mrs. Dowdy was born in Camden and raised in Gloucester where she attended PB School of Beauty. She enjoyed working as a hairdresser for several years and later worked for the Visiting Nurses Association for fifteen years.

In her free time she liked to bowl, play Bingo and collect clowns. Most of all she enjoyed being outdoors either fishing, crabbing or at the beach. She was the devoted military wife of nearly 50 years to Jerry Dowdy of Gibbstown; her children, Tina Dowdy and her partner Tina Williams of Millville, Jerry Dowdy and his girlfriend Dawn Scafide of Colonial Manor, Deborah and Brian Romagnoli of Logan Township; her step daughters, Penny Dowdy of Arizona and Norma and Timo Ojanpera of Massachusetts; devoted grandmother of Daniel and Monique, Brandy, Jerry, Kevin, Amber, Evan and Jayda; loving great grandmother to Adalyn and Riley; also survived by her stepsister, Pat and Rick Dowdy of Ashland, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dowdy was predeceased by her step brother, William Curcio. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM Monday July 30, 2018 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Monday morning after 10:30 AM until service time.
