Lillian R Raymond, 89, of Torrington, CT, passed away Wednesday, January 9th, at Regal Health Center. She was the wife of the late Ronald “Bud Raymond. Lillian was born in New Milford, CT on October 17, 1929, a daughter of the late Dorothy and Clarence VanVaulkenburgh.

She had been employed by Torin Corporation. Active in politics, she was active with the United Labor Agency and served as Union President of Tormanco, and had run for the Office of Mayor of Torrington. She also had been in charge of Tormanco Credit Union for many years, and had helped her husband run Ron’s Gulf Service Station in West Torrington for many years.

She later owned Hugo’s Market for several years. Lillian is survived by a daughter, Deborah Raymond and sons Charles Raymond and wife Joanne and Ronald Raymond and wife Judy grandchildren Jeremy and wife Courtney Beyer and Tara Beyer, Christopher Raymond, Lindsey, Aaron, Paul, and Ron Raymond Jr. and 9 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at at First United Methodist Church in Torrington, Saturday Jan.
