LILLIE BEATRICE JONES POOLE – Daughter of the late Rufus Mayo Jones and Mary Ellen Sawyer Jones was born on April 12, 1928 in Camden County, North Carolina. She departed this life on October 12, 2018 in the Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation, Elizabeth City, NC at 90 years of age. She was joined in holy matrimony on June 19, 1950 to Winfred Edward Poole who preceded her in death after 54 years of marriage.

Poole of Lanham MD and Rosalyn Poole Coston (Alvin) of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandchildren – Mieshia Poole and Quiana Coston; six great-grandchildren – Kennedy and Kevon Corley, Niyani Mayo, Stefan Gregory, Alvina and Alvin Spruill. Two brothers, Bruce Jones of Riverhead, New York and Norman Jones (Geneva) of Alexandria, VA, one step-sister Ethel Gregory of Chesapeake, VA, one brother-in-law, Willie Gallop. She was preceded in death by sisters Doris Haskins, Annie Evans, Dorothy Evans and Mary Gallop; brothers Columbus Jones, Earl Jones, George Jones, Charles L. Jones and Vernon Jones.

Grandson, Alvin Spruill. Lillie leaves several nieces, nephews, family and friends to cherish her memories and had a special place in her heart for her God-children Anita Bernard-Whitehurst, Lewis Brooks, Stephen and Dale Gregory.
