Lillie L. Lampe, 81, of Milan, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Generations, Rock Island. A memorial visitation will be Monday from 10 am to 12 pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Inurnment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan. Lillie was born on June 26, 1937 in Davenport, a daughter of Julius and Rose (Hamann) Menes. She married Clair Thompson.

She later married Billy Lampe on November 11, 1989 in Silvis. Mrs. Lampe was a daycare provider for 18 years, working from her home. She enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts.

Mrs. Lampe had also written three children’s books. Survivors include her husband, Billy; children, Dan (Cindy) Thompson, Aledo, David (Elaine) Thompson, Aledo, Jeffrey (Crystal) Thompson, Norton Shores, Michigan, Larry Thompson, Aledo, Timothy (Jennifer) Thompson, Aledo, stepchildren, Deborah (Bob) Sarver, Milan, Linda (Louis) Meyers, Carbon Cliff, Dale (Karen) Lampe, Davenport, Ricky (Sara) Lampe, East Moline, Tracy (Karen) Lampe, Colona and Roger (Theresa) Lampe, Colona; 24 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; siblings, Rosemary Dunbar, Davenport, Robert Menes, Moline and Russell Menes, Davenport. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Menes; a grandson, Christopher Thompson; and a great granddaughter, Valerie Carlson.
