OBITUARY Lily Hoffman August 14, 1929 – September 10, 2018 Lily (Olsen) Hoffman, 89 years of age, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018, in Miamisburg, Ohio. Lily was born on August 14, 1929 on Goodrich, North Dakota. She graduated from the Goodrich North Dakota High School in 1947.

She attended Valley City Teachers College in Valley City, North Dakota where she earned an elementary school teaching license. While a student there she met her future husband, David Hoffman. The two were united in matrimony soon after.

That union formed six children: Kim, Kay, Kit, Kea, Koe, and Kip. After completing her education, she elected to stay at home and raise her children. As her children moved up through the grades Lily was active in volunteering at school.

In particular she assisted in operations of the Trotwood High School Rockettes, an organization of which she eventually assumed the role as president. Additionally Lily was active in Welcome Wagon, and the annual Trotwood Community Festival. She also contributed significant volunteer hours to the Trotwood ball diamond concessions.

In the early 1980’s after having raised her children, she and David opened The LEARNING LADDER a retail store in Trotwood, Ohio which specialized in school supplies for educators. Due in large part to her hard work and natural gift of working with people, The LEARNING LADDER experienced considerable success. Lily’s strong will and lively spirit is perhaps best manifest in the fact that she personally, on three separate occasions, survived cancer.

In her later years she wintered at Citrus Park, a retirement community in Bonita Springs, Florida. She enjoyed golfing in a league as well as serving as pitcher on one of the Citrus Park Community softball teams. As years passed, she transitioned into the position of official scorer for league games.

She was preceded in death by her husband David, and her daughter Koe, and son Kim. Lily is survived by daughters Kay, Worthington, Ohio; Kit Werner (Peter), Ypsilanti, MI; Kea Blankenship (Ronald), Union, Ohio; and son Kip (Susan), Eaton, Ohio; ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
