In Loving Memory Linda Bellingar Gifford March 11, 1937 – April 16, 2018 A long-time resident of Walla Walla, Linda Bellingar Gifford passed away on Monday, April 16, at the age of 81. After a private family graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery, a public memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Wednesday, May 2nd at 2pm. After graduating from Whitman and attending graduate school for her master’s degree in Childhood Education, she returned to town to raise a family, spending her career as a beloved teacher and guidance counselor at DeSales High School. Along with her work at DeSales, Linda was involved in many community groups, including service on the boards of the Children’s Home Society and the Carnegie Art Center. She was a proud member of P.E.O. Chapter FT, where she served in multiple offices, including chapter president.

She also led a Camp Fire Girls Bluebird troop, volunteered as a Master Gardener for the WSU Extension, and was very active at St. Paul’s Church as a parishioner and Vacation Bible School instructor. In her spare time, Linda loved quilting, travelling the world, and spending time with friends, family, and her dearly-loved cats. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gifford and her son Matthew Fuhr.

Linda is survived by her daughter Cecily Fuhr of Rochester, New York, and her two sisters: Judy Wheeler of Gig Harbor, and Mary Straight of Cherokee Village, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to donate to the Blue Mountain Humane Society or to Walla Walla Catholic Schools in Linda’s memory.
