In Loving Memory Donald R. Hamilton February 4, 1932 – May 8, 2018 Donald Hamilton, 86, passed away on May 8, 2018 at his home in College Place, WA. A Celebration of Life is being planned for June. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, Walla Walla, WA.

Donald was born in Gifford, Idaho on February 4, 1932 to Orie W. Hamilton and Hazel Irene Mehl. Don graduated from Pasco High School in 1952. He married his high school sweetheart Iona Mae Morehouse… Read More » in 1952 and they had three children.

He served in the Nation Guard Reserves and worked at the Inland Hardware in Pasco, WA as a Warehouse Manager. Don and Iona (Onie) moved to Walla Walla in 1968; they later divorced. He married Roxie Marvel and has three step daughters.

Donald later divorced Roxie and moved to College Place where he lived with and took care of his mother. While living in Walla Walla he worked at Birds Eye Frozen Foods and stayed at that plant as Warehouse Foreman through its numerous sales. He retired from the company, D & K Frozen Foods, where he had worked with his daughter Trena in the warehouse cold rooms.

Don enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, son-in-laws and grandsons. Gardening was a lifelong hobby, and he helped at the farm watering the livestock. He traveled with his brother and best friend Bobby Jones; he liked to say he had been to every state in the US and a lot of Canada.

Donald was preceded in death by his oldest brother Norman Hamilton (Bess). He is survived by his sister Merrildine Ely (John Ely-deceased) of Finely WA, his brother Gary (Janet) Hamilton of Williamsburg, WV, daughters; Trena Ann Norris (Roy Norris-deceased) of Touchet, Donita Rae (Joe) Taruscio of Walla Walla, Doyle Gene (Trudy Wallace) Hamilton of Pasco, step-daughters Brenda (Larry) Brown, Kathy Harmon, Christy (Rick) Schoessler all of Walla Walla, his grandchildren Donald and Julie Norris, Jessica Tomkins, BJ (JaiDee Pitcher) and Travis (Jonie Nash)Taruscio, Jake (Jenny Walsh) and Miranda Hamilton, and Kayla (Rob) Crawford, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
