Linda’s Obituary Linda Frances Lattimore Higgins, age 75 of Etowah, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 18, 2019. She was born in Cleveland Tennessee on December 17, 1943 to the late Frances and Henry Lattimore. She moved at age 7 to Cleveland, Ohio so that her father could find work.

Upon her return in 1968, she married the love of her life Hershell E. Higgins. Linda was blinded in her right eye due to an accident and has been legally blind in both eyes for 10 years. She fiercely missed driving and her independence due to her blindness.

Her family is rejoicing in knowing her vision is now perfect and she has no pain! To God be the Glory! Her life included many rewarding occupations, all of which she enjoyed.

She worked at Superior Brush Company while in Ohio then upon returning to Cleveland, Tennessee she worked at Bendix Corporation. She then took off time to raise her precious daughter, Jody Ann. Later she worked alongside her husband Hershell remodeling homes for resale, now known as “flipping”.

After Hershell’s retirement in 2001, they moved to Etowah where she beautifully restored the historic Cantrell home where she resided until her passing. She was a devoted member of Cambria Baptist Church in Etowah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Infant sister, Henrietta Lattimore; sister, Virginia Hall Thompson; and Brother, Henry Lattimore.

She was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Hershell E. Higgins of Etowah; her precious daughter, Jody Ann (Dee) of Cleveland; special nieces, and nephews, Robin Shadden (Jeff) and Michael Hall(Risa) of Cleveland; laura Lattimore Price and Bob Lattimore(Therese) of Medina, Ohio; sister-in-law, Veronica Lattimore of Medina, Ohio and several brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life and Home going for Linda Higgins will be held at 7p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Rowland and Brother Alex Cain officiating.

A Graveside service will be at 11a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Cambria Baptist Church Cemetery with Dee Waddell, Dylan Higgins, Michael Hall, Doug Higgins, Jeff Shadden and Luke Shadden serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-7p. m on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
