OBITUARY Linda Gail Reitzel July 25, 1943 – January 7, 2019 Linda Gail McKinney Reitzel, age 75, of Hickory, NC, passed away from lung cancer on Monday, January 7, 2019, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Born July 25, 1943, in Yancey County, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Walter McKinney and Lena Belle Silvers McKinney. Linda was a member of Viewmont Baptist Church in Hickory, NC, and had retired from the health care industry as a CNA2.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Eugene Pearson, III, brother, Keith McKinney, and a step-son, David Reitzel. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Garrell Reitzel of Hickory, NC; sons, W. Anthony “Tony” Pearson and wife Deborah of Oskalosa, IA, James “Jim” H. Plemons and wife Julie of Burnsville, NC, Richard “Ricky” B. Pearson of Grimes, IA, R. Dean Pearson and wife Carrie of Des Moines, IA, and Donald E. Pearson and wife Kim of Oskalosa, IA; sister-in-law, Patsy McKinney of Hickory, NC; step-daughter, Lori Clark of Cumberton, NC; 4 grandsons, 9 granddaughters, 8 great-grandsons, and 9 great-granddaughters. A private service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
