Linda Kay Rideout Potter, June 25, 1956 — February 01, 2019

Linda Kay (Rideout) Potter was born in Henderson, Kentucky, to Dr. Bill and Ethel Rideout. Kay passed away at the age of 62 on February 1, 2019, at Deaconess Trauma Center in Evansville, IN. She is survived by her daughter, Carly Cay Potter of Henderson, KY; her parents of Henderson, KY; sister Vickie (Rideout) Myers of McLean, VA; brother Stan Rideout and wife, Aelecia Rideout, of Isle of Palms, SC; and brother Ken Rideout and wife Laura Rideout, of Houston, TX; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was a Christian of Baptist faith, and a caring and precious person. Kay graduated from Anderson County High School (Lawrenceburg, KY) in 1974. She then earned her nursing degree from Eastern Kentucky University.

As an accomplished nurse, her medical career included multiple specialties at prestigious hospitals throughout the country including California, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Indiana and Kentucky. During her 40-year career, she worked in multiple disciplines such as O.B. & Delivery, Burn Unit, O.R., Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Director of Nurses, Director of Surgery Centers and Geriatrics. In her most recent engagement, she served as a supervising nurse at Red Banks Skilled Nursing Facility in Henderson, KY.

Kay’s passion for helping others extended beyond her nursing career. She was a loving mother, daughter and sister, and a friend to all who knew her. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 307 Center Street, Henderson, KY 42420. Kay will be interred at Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson, KY, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to “The Kathy J.
