Winsted: Linda Lee LaCasse, 68, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington following a long illness. Born in Hartford, March 22, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Marshall LaCasse and the late Margaret (Finlay) LaCasse Ottoman, and had lived in Winsted most of her life. She had attended local schools and graduated from Regional School #7.

She later attended the Rochester School of X-Ray in Rochester, NY before earning her Bachelor’s, Masters and Teaching Degrees from Columbia University prior to teaching at UConn, Quinnipiac, the Hospital for Special Care and St. Mary’s Hospitals. She also loved her homes in Florida and Maine. She was a big fan of the NE Patriots and UConn Women’s Basketball an avid reader and was big on education.

Linda loved nature, feeding the birds and animals, swimming and gardening. She was a gentle kind hearted person. In addition to her faithful friend, Gloria Marchi with whom she made her home, she is survived by five brothers, Ronald (Penny) LaCasse and James (Sharon Day) LaCasse of Hartland, CT, David LaCasse of Springfield, MA, Richard (Betty) LaCasse of NY and John (Tara) LaCasse of Riverton, CT.

Four sisters, Carol (Bob) Stadler of Hartland, CT, Marina Kittridge of New Hartford, CT, Nancy LaCasse and Peggy (Leon) Coon of Winsted, a sister in law, Elaine _LaCasse of Hartland, and many many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and Peter LaCasse and a baby sister, Laura Lee LaCasse. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Barkhamsted Center Cemetery on Center Hill Road in Barkhamsted.
