James R. “Jim” Matthias, 83, of Duquesne died Friday, October 12, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian. Born in McKeesport, November 29, 1934, he was the son of the Late George and Mary (Uhrine) Matthias. Mr. Matthias was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin, The Parish Men’s Club, Knights of Columbus Council 4210, and the IBEW Local 29.

He was a retired employee of the Duquesne Light Company and a humble servant of the Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister for many years, and a U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband of the Late Ann Ragan Matthias. He is survived by four sons, Robert (Diane), James (Sandy), Michael (Tracey) and William Matthias; a brother, George Matthias and a sister, Geraldine Vennebush; Seven Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in Death by a brother William. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 14, from 5-8pm and Monday, October 15, from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., Richford and Commonwealth Avenue, Duquesne. Blessing in the Memorial Home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 9:30am will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin, with Rev.

Thomas Lewandowski as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin.
