Winsted: Robert Edward Hope, 84, died on Monday, November 5, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Frances (Cross) Hope who died in February of this year. Born in Norwalk, CT, December 4, 1933, he was the son of the late, Robert and Dorothy (Mead) Hope.

During his working career, he had been an orderly in a convalesent home, a boiler maker, a welder and later in life a school bus driver. Bob was an avid traveler and reader, loved the beaches especially in Clearwater, Florida. After coming back up north, was ever present as head usher and trustee at the Winsted United Methodist Church for many years.

His survivors include his step-children, Sue Ellen Bessette, Lynn (Campbell) Deschamps and Mark Alan Campbell; three brothers, Jack Hope, Terry Hope and Butch Hope and six grandchildren, Heather, Brittany, Alexander, Christina, Dylan and Joseph. He was predeceased by a step-daughter Jill Anne Speer, a brother, William Hope and two sisters, Mary Hope and Roberta Hope. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Winsted United Methodist Church, 630 Main Street, at 12:00 Noon.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Winsted United Methodist church in his name.
