Linda Sue Hatley Rushing, 79, of Concord, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018. Sue was born September 30, 1939 in Stanly County to the late Britton Floyd Hatley and the late Minnie Martha Hatley. She was also preceded in death by beloved husband, Gene Rushing; son, Timmy Rushing; and brother, Ted Hatley.

Sue retired from Star America Hosiery. She was a very crafty and hard-working woman. Sue enjoyed finding deals on what-nots and birds at yard sales and flea markets.

She loved all birds, but the cardinal was her favorite. She enjoyed going to see George Jones and Loretta Lynn at the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach and gambling trips to the mountains, but she loved her children more than anything. Survivors include son, Terry (Donna) Rushing; daughter, Debbie Williams; son, Danny Rushing; brother, Bob (Virginia) Hatley; 8 grandchildren, Chad (Samantha) Rushing, Jennifer (Jayme) Lowder, Amber (Bruce) Jamerson, Michelle Rushing, April Rushing, Tammy Stewart, Tina Dales, Terry Dales; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 nephews, Roger, Mark and Todd Hatley.

The funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord. The family will receive friends prior to the service, 11:00 am – 12:45 pm. Burial will follow at the Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, Concord.

Memorial donations may be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Rushing family.
