Obituary for Walter Hugh Henderson Jr. Walter Hugh Henderson Jr. October 1, 1948 – December 30, 2018 Walter Hugh Henderson Jr., 70, passed away December 30, 2018 in Concord, NC. He was raised in Ellerbe, NC, but spent most of his life in Matthews, NC, and Greenville, NC. A celebration of Walter’s life will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019, in Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel located on 100 Branchview Drive NE, Concord, NC at 2:00 PM.
Following the service, friends and family are encouraged to gather and join in a “toast” of Walter, at the home of Joanna and Wes Hudson, 410 Conifer Place, Concord, NC. Walter is the son of the late Walter H. Henderson, Sr. and Juanita A. Henderson. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Henderson Winecoff, and Carol Henderson Warrick.
Walter is survived by his wife, Mollie Nichols Henderson; daughter, Joanna Henderson Hudson; son-in-law, Dr. Wes Hudson, all of Concord, NC; nephew, Patrick Winecoff of Chattanooga, TN; and grandchildren, Eli Hudson, Sam Hudson, Max Hudson, and Luella-Grace Hudson. Walter attended East Carolina University and was an enthusiastic fan of the ECU Pirates. He was retired from Creative Floor Coverings and Design, Matthews, NC.
